Perspectives

Script by Pedro MouraPG 01
[Pulau Tioman, Malaysia.]

I’ve come here for the diving. Brought some books too.
But the most amazing thing…
is to walk among nature and check its fauna. So vibrant and different from the one I’m most used to.
These sleep all through the day. And they look like the leaves of the carob tree on my yard.
The guys are gonna love these!
It’s really incredible the diversity of animals in this island. And the colors are incredible!
Sometime I don’t see them right away so I get spooked.
Some others they really stand out. Like in a show.
– They’re so cute!
…even if they don’t stay put for long.
– Wait up!
If they were eating this, must be good…
I’m taking you with me.
Man, these animais are all really fantastic!
Well… not all of them.

The end.

Throughout the ages, we knew all in our land.
There was food, space… somestrife, yes, but who does not have them?
Nevertheless, the balance was fluid and soothing.
But it was broken by an uncanny creature…
Bat 1: – Damn, here it comes again!
Bat 2: – Does it know what time it is??
Bat 3: – Come one man, five minutes more…
We rarely see its face, as it hides its features beyond strange sparkling rocks, which is always exchanging for one another.
For when it does reveal it, it’s even worse!
– By the Sun’s tail! The horror!
It has no scales. No hair. No feathers… it looks like an old, inedible fruit…
– Oh, come on! Picnic’s over, folks!
…and quite inconvenient…
– Can’t you give us a break??
– And right on shellfish buffet day!!
To the point it unites us all in this same perspective.
Well, truth be said… not all agree…
– Fooooood!!

The end.
